Position Overview

Blackrock Strategy is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Operations Assistant Intern to provide part-time, in-office support to the corporate operations team.

This entry-level opportunity offers practical exposure to the day-to-day business functions of a growing federal contractor, including administrative coordination, records management, internal communications, workflow tracking, and process improvement.

Working under the direction of corporate operations leadership, the intern will help organize information, maintain accurate records, coordinate routine activities, and assist with special projects while developing foundational professional skills.

Key Responsibilities

•  Provide daily administrative and organizational support to corporate operations and office personnel.

•  Organize and maintain electronic files, shared folders, forms, and business records in accordance with company procedures.

•  Assist with tracking assignments, deadlines, action items, and routine internal requests; follow up on outstanding information as directed.

•  Prepare, format, proofread, and update spreadsheets, presentations, templates, reports, and standard operating procedures.

•  Help coordinate meetings, calendars, conference rooms, visitor logistics, and internal events.

•  Assist with employee onboarding logistics, document collection, and training coordination under appropriate staff supervision.

•  Support purchasing and vendor administration through quote collection, order tracking, inventory updates, and documentation.

•  Help maintain office supplies, equipment records, and an organized, professional work environment.

•  Identify opportunities to simplify repetitive administrative tasks and support basic workflow or process-improvement projects.

•  Handle company information with discretion, escalate questions appropriately, and complete other assigned operations projects.

Required Qualifications

•  Currently enrolled in a college, university, or relevant training program, or a recent graduate seeking practical business experience.

•  Ability to work part-time, in person, at the Huntsville corporate office.

•  Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, dependability, and willingness to learn.

•  Professional written and verbal communication skills and a service-oriented approach.

•  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.

•  Ability to manage multiple assignments, follow instructions, meet deadlines, and ask questions when priorities are unclear.

•  Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive business or employee information appropriately.

Preferred Qualifications

•  Coursework in business administration, management, human resources, accounting, communications, or a related field.

•  Prior office, customer service, campus leadership, or administrative experience.

•  Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, or digital document-management tools.

•  Interest in business operations, organizational processes, or the federal contracting industry.

•  Comfort developing basic spreadsheets, checklists, forms, and organized tracking tools.

Work Environment

•  In-office role based at Blackrock Strategy’s Huntsville corporate location; not a remote position.

•  Part-time schedule coordinated with business needs and, where practical, academic commitments.

•  Routine office work involving computer use, document handling, meetings, and interaction with cross-functional teams.

•  Assignments are performed under supervision; the intern is not expected to independently approve financial, personnel, contractual, or compliance decisions.

Benefits

•  Paid, hands-on professional experience in corporate business operations.

•  Exposure to multiple business functions and opportunities to build practical administrative and project-coordination skills.

•  Mentorship, feedback, and professional development through supervised assignments.

•  Eligibility for company-sponsored benefit programs, if any, is determined by plan terms and the employee’s part-time status.
