About the Role

The 2027 Summer Rotational Intern gains a broad, end-to-end view of the residential homebuilding business by rotating through several departments over the course of the internship. This program is designed for students who are interested in a leadership career in homebuilding and want to understand how land, finance, construction, purchasing, and sales work together to deliver homes and create value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rotate through three to five departments, typically including Land Development, Accounting & Finance, Purchasing, Construction, and Sales & Marketing, spending roughly one to two weeks in each.
  • Complete defined assignments in each rotation, such as reviewing a land deal, assisting with a budget, conducting a quality walk, or supporting a marketing campaign.
  • Learn how the departments interact across the homebuilding lifecycle, from land acquisition to home closing and warranty.
  • Attend leadership meetings, such as land committee, operations, and sales meetings, to observe how key business decisions are made.
  • Build relationships with department mentors and provide regular updates on learnings and progress.
  • Complete a capstone project of your choice, and present findings and recommendations to the leadership team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Finance, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for job-site and community visits.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership through student organizations, athletics, work, or community involvement.
  • Prior internship experience in real estate, construction, finance, or a related industry.
  • Interest in a leadership development or management track after graduation.

What You’ll Gain:

A complete picture of the homebuilding business, exposure to senior leadership, and the flexibility to discover which area best fits your strengths, which is ideal preparation for a future leadership role.
