About this opportunity:

Ericsson Innovation Hub is a collaborative space where technology, creativity, and societal challenges come together. Students, Ericsson innovators, and external partners exchange ideas, build prototypes, and explore communications, robotics, AI, and other emerging technologies in a flexible, hands-on environment.

As an intern, you will work alongside students, Ericsson innovators, and external partners to turn early ideas into prototypes, proofs of concept, and demonstrations. The hub operates in an agile, startup-inspired environment where everyone is encouraged to contribute, share knowledge, learn, and succeed.

This is a fully in-person, part-time internship of approximately 15 hours per week during the academic year, from February to May and September to December. There may be an opportunity to continue as a summer job of up to 40 hours per week from June to August, subject to business needs and mutual agreement.

Internship is based at Ericsson Kista, Stockholm. Starting date: immediate. End date: August 2027 or later.

What you will do:

Contribute to innovation projects and demonstration events.

Develop proofs of concept, mockups, minimum viable products, and demonstration objects.

Explore emerging technologies and investigate opportunities beyond current product boundaries.

Collaborate with students, Ericsson innovators, external partners, and academia.

Share knowledge, give and receive feedback, and help turn ideas into working concepts.

Example project areas include:

IoT applications for smart cities, sustainability, and remote monitoring.

AI and machine learning, automation, cloud computing, and networking.

Connected devices using the hub’s private 5G network and network APIs.

New 5G use cases and Network Digital Twins.

Robotics, including robot arms and other setups.

AR, VR, and XR applications.

IT security, front-end and back-end solutions, simulators, tools, and AI agents.

The skills you bring:

You are a Bachelor’s or Master’s student who has completed at least two years of study in a relevant technical or design discipline.

You have a hands-on maker mindset and are enthusiastic about experimenting, building, and learning.

You are interested in early-stage experiments, technology demonstrations, and startup-style environments.

Interested in IoT and in connecting devices and systems that could benefit from connectivity.

Interested in areas such as AI, automation, cloud computing, virtual reality, user-interface design, Linux, or networking.

You have, or are motivated to develop, hands-on experience with hardware platforms such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi, sensors, and related components.
