SAP China iXp Intern – Cloud Engineer for SAP HANA Cloud Tooling

What you'll build:

We are looking for engineers who are genuinely excited to learn, and who see AI not just as a tool but as a creative partner. Successful applicants will bring curiosity over credentials — the drive to pick up an unfamiliar technology, figure it out, and build something useful with it. If you learn fast, think creatively, and want to see your work running in a real production system, we want to meet you.

In this position, you will:

• Work directly on the operations of SAP HANA Cloud Tooling — a globally distributed, production-grade Kubernetes platform
• Use AI and LLM tools actively in your day-to-day work: writing scripts, debugging incidents, generating runbooks, and exploring new solutions
• Develop your skills in Kubernetes cluster operations, Helm chart management, and infrastructure-as-code
• Develop your skills in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
• Write Python tooling to automate operational workflows and reduce toil
• Participate in incident response, contribute to root cause analyses, and help build runbooks
• Bring fresh ideas —genuinely want to hear how you would use AI to do something our team hasn't tried yet
• Collaborate with developers, support team, platform engineers, and across global teams

What you bring:

• Graduate or college student in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline
• A genuine love of learning — you pick up new technologies on your own and enjoy the process
• Hands-on experience with Python — writing scripts, automation, or tooling
• Active curiosity about AI/LLM: you have already used tools like Claude, Copilot, or ChatGPT to build or automate something, and you want to go further
• Knowledge with Linux/shell scripting and command-line workflows
• Basic awareness of containerization (Docker) and orchestration concepts
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Jenkins, or Terraform is a strong plus
• Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki) is a plus
• Significant hobby programming experience (including personal projects, hackathons, and programming contests) would be appealing
• Strong academic performance(for recent graduates) is preferred
• Proficiency in English language; daily communication will be done in English
