About the Role

We are looking for a talented Customer Service Specialist Intern to join our Supply Chain and Logistics team at our Cummins facility in Cameri (NO), Italy, for a 6-month internship.

This is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate interested in developing practical experience in customer service, order management, and logistics within an international manufacturing environment. Working closely with experienced colleagues, you will gain hands-on exposure to customer order processing, delivery coordination, and supply chain operations, supporting our European customers and ensuring efficient and reliable service.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Support the daily management of customer orders and forecasts, ensuring accurate and timely entry of information into internal systems.
  • Assist in reviewing and analysing customer delivery schedules, identifying changes in demand, order variations, and potential impacts on production and shipments.
  • Communicate directly with European customers to provide updates on order status, delivery schedules, and shipment information, responding to enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with Logistics, Production Planning, Material Planning, and Warehouse teams to coordinate customer deliveries and ensure orders are processed efficiently.
  • Support the organisation and monitoring of shipments from the Cameri manufacturing facility to customers, helping to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving order or delivery discrepancies, working with internal teams to provide effective solutions and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate customer and shipment records, supporting administrative activities including order documentation, data entry, and document archiving.
  • Gain practical experience using Oracle ERP and Excel to manage customer information, monitor orders, and support data analysis and reporting activities.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly when managing customer orders, delivery schedules, and numerical information.
  • Good analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify discrepancies, and understand changes in customer demand.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with data and pivot tables.
  • A customer-focused, proactive, and collaborative approach, with a willingness to learn and contribute to a dynamic international environment.
  • Excellent Italian and strong English communication skills, both written and spoken, with the confidence to communicate directly with international customers.

Education/Experience:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • An interest in customer service, order management, logistics, or supply chain operations.
  • Previous internship or practical experience in customer service, logistics, or an administrative environment would be an advantage but is not required.
  • Availability to work full-time, Monday to Friday, on-site at our Cameri facility for the entire 6-month internship.

Internship Details:

  • Duration: 6 months.
