About the Role

The Day to Day:

In the Branch Operations Intern role, you will gain hands-on exposure to how parts, service, rentals, sales, and branch management work together to support customers and drive dealership performance. Through job shadowing, practical assignments, and cross-functional projects, you will learn the customer lifecycle—from initial inquiry through equipment delivery, ongoing service and parts support, and customer follow-up.

  • Rotate through the parts department to learn inventory-control practices and assist with cycle counts and related activities.
  • Support the service team by learning work-in-process board management, purchase-order processes, and technician scheduling.
  • Assist the rental team with equipment-availability reviews, customer quotes, and rental-board activities.
  • Participate in sales ride-alongs to observe customer conversations, needs discovery, solution development, and follow-up.
  • Shadow branch management and gain exposure to basic profit-and-loss reviews, sales-quote approvals, rental operations, and safety practices.
  • Develop working knowledge of MGX software, CRM tools, and other systems used to manage customer and branch activity.
  • Collaborate with parts, service, rental, sales, and leadership teams on projects and priorities based on business needs.

In this internship you will gain experience with:

  • The customer lifecycle, from initial inquiry and quoting through equipment delivery, support, and follow-up
  • Inventory control, including cycle-count processes
  • Service operations, including work-in-process tracking, purchase-order management, and technician scheduling
  • Rental operations, including availability, quoting, and rental-board management
  • Sales activities through ride-alongs and exposure to customer interactions
  • Basic dealership financial concepts, including revenue, gross profit, expenses, utilization, and profitability
  • Business systems and tools, including MGX software and CRM

You will be exposed to:

  • A professional equipment-dealership and branch-operations environment
  • Cross-functional collaboration among parts, service, rentals, sales, and leadership
  • Day-to-day operational decision-making and customer-support activities
  • Safety expectations and the role of safe practices in branch operations
  • How operational execution and customer service influence dealership performance
  • Potential career paths in operations management, sales, service, parts, and rental operations

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Sales, Management, or a related field.
  • Interest in the equipment industry, dealership operations, customer service, or business management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to learn new software and business processes, analyze information, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated work ethic, initiative, leadership potential, and commitment to safe work practices.
  • Availability to work approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during the internship period.
