Job Requisition ID #

26WD101692

Location: Sheffield, UK
Schedule: 12-month full-time placement, starting June/July 2027

This opportunity is a 12-month placement based in the UK, structured in two stages: an initial 3-month summer internship, followed by a 9-month fixed-term contract (FTC). Each stage will be governed by its applicable contractual terms and conditions, which will be communicated to successful candidates as part of the offer process.

Position overview

You will join Autodesk’s Stardew team, a group of software experts developing a cutting-edge, software-driven approach to Quality Assurance (QA). This is a hands-on software development role in which you will design, build, and maintain automated test software that helps us assess and improve the quality of our products.

Working closely with our web and desktop development teams, you will collaborate with software engineers, designers, and architects while gaining practical experience across the software development lifecycle.

One of the products you will contribute to is Forma Design Collaboration, a sophisticated client-side application built using modern web technologies such as React and WebGPU. With a rapidly growing user base, maintaining a high level of quality and reliability with every release is essential. To support this, we use automated end-to-end tests, unit tests, continuous integration, and focused testing against defined requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to quality throughout the full software development lifecycle, from initial design through to customer release.
  • Design, develop, and maintain resilient automated test software using the Cypress JavaScript framework.
  • Create test cases, execute test procedures, and document your work within Jira.
  • Work as an active member of the Stardew team and contribute to our agile development process.
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers and gain insight into modern software development practices within a global organisation.
  • Contribute to our Jenkins continuous integration platform, which automatically performs application code checks and runs tests during deployment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A full-time undergraduate student enrolled in an accredited software development-related course at the time of internship participation, with a solid academic standing.
  • Curious, open-minded, and motivated to learn new concepts and technologies.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to work independently.
  • An understanding of software testing and quality assurance would be beneficial.
