(S.C.A.L.E.) Future Microelectronics & Optics Opportunities

CFD Research is looking for students for future internships and full-time roles upon graduation to join our Energy Storage & Electronics and Optics teams. The Energy Storage team focuses on designing and testing custom electronics systems for both commercial and Department of War (DoW) applications. The Optics team specializes in developing advanced optical concepts from research into field-ready systems for defense, space, and commercial applications. As positions become available, students that have aligned experience and have applied to this role will be considered.

Information Regarding our Internship Program:

Interns in this program will support research in their area of study and/or interest ranging from Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, and more. The program runs 8-10 weeks over the summer and has flexible start and finish dates based on candidate's availability (typically mid-May to August). Each CFD Research Internship has both a mentor and technical manager to help guide them on their research project over the summer. In addition to challenging technical work, CFD Research's program offers professional development and social activities designed to help our interns have a great, all-around summer internship experience.

Typical Degrees hired for Energy Storage & Electronics and Optics teams will include:

Electrical Engineering (Graduate and Undergraduate)
Optical Engineering (Graduate and Undergraduate)
Physics (Graduate and Undergraduate)
Other similar Engineering (Graduate and Undergraduate) Disciplines

Requirements:

Candidate must be a US Citizen (Unfortunately, current contracts do not allow us to hire Green Card or Visa holders at this time.).
Student must be pursuing a degree (Graduate or Undergraduate) in a related discipline.
Applicants must be a member or participant in S.C.A.L.E.
Internships requires students to be available to work in Huntsville, AL or Dayton, OH for the summer. Locations for full-time opportunities may vary.
