SWBR is a nationally recognized design firm with expertise in architecture, interior design, structural engineering, landscape architecture, graphic design, planning and civil engineering. Since our founding in 1969, the focus of our expertise and most of our current work supports education, housing, and workplace design.

With 120+ professionals, we are headquartered in Rochester, New York with offices in Syracuse, Buffalo, and Troy, New York.

We have begun looking for Interns for Summer 2027 in Rochester, Buffalo, and Troy, NY.

SWBR’s fearlessly creative, enthusiastic, inquisitive and passionate interns work side-by-side with our architects and designers as integral team members. You’ll be assigned to a specific project, ranging from complex educational facilities to lifestyle and corporate interiors to housing complexes to gain experience in the design disciplines we practice: architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, structural engineering, and civil/site engineering. Our full-time, paid internships typically last eight weeks and are completed between May-September.

Throughout the summer break, interns will gain experience working in a professional Architectural, Engineering & Landscape Architecture firm and have an opportunity to learn and work alongside our multi-disciplinary team. Depending on studio of interest, day-to-day activities can include tasks such as drafting, redlines, office organizational activities, construction/client site visits and software learning experiences. Our internships are based in our Rochester, NY, Troy, NY or Syracuse, NY office and will require a 100% in office commitment. Internships are paid, but SWBR does not arrange/financially provide for travel or housing for the duration of your stay with us.

Hourly Pay Range: $17-$19/hour 

The listed hourly range represents a good faith range for incumbents of these positions. Actual offers will be based on career interest, current year in school, and demonstrated skills and will be at the discretion of the employer.
