You’re RGA ready

RGA is a purpose-driven organization working to solve today’s challenges through innovation and collaboration. A Fortune 200 Company and listed among its World’s Most Admired Companies, we’re the only global reinsurance company to focus primarily on life- and health-related solutions. Interns are matched with a Finance team based on business needs and candidate interests, with potential exposure to accounting, financial planning and analysis, reporting, controls, data analytics, process improvement, or special projects.

The opportunity

As a Finance & Accounting Intern, you will contribute to team priorities while developing practical skills in analysis, communication, problem-solving, and collaboration. You will work with Finance professionals and business partners, gain a broader understanding of how Finance supports the organization, and build relationships across the enterprise.

We value fresh perspectives. You will be encouraged to ask thoughtful questions, share ideas, take ownership of your work, and learn from experienced colleagues throughout the internship. The specific responsibilities and tools used will vary by team assignment.

What you'll do

  • Support financial and accounting analyses, reconciliations, reporting, and other team deliverables.
  • Gather, organize, validate, and analyze financial or operational data; summarize findings and identify potential trends, risks, or opportunities.
  • Help prepare reports, presentations, dashboards, workpapers, and other materials for Finance leaders and business partners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Finance and the enterprise to complete assignments accurately and on time.
  • Contribute to process improvement, automation, data analytics, or finance transformation initiatives, depending on the team assignment.
  • Conduct research and ad hoc analysis to support business decisions, strategic initiatives, and special projects.
  • Review your work for completeness and accuracy, maintain clear documentation, and communicate progress, questions, or issues to your manager.
  • Build positive professional relationships and demonstrate curiosity, accountability, collaboration, and a willingness to learn.

What you'll bring

  • Current full-time enrollment at the junior, senior, or graduate level in an accredited bachelor's or master's degree program in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Foundational knowledge of finance or accounting concepts and an interest in strengthening your business and financial acumen.
  • Analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and ask for guidance when needed.
  • A learning mindset and willingness to seek out the expertise and perspectives of others.
  • Experience with data analytics, visualization, automation, programming, or other finance-related tools a plus.

We’re excited to get to know you and connect your unique skills with our global opportunities. To create a modern and seamless experience, we use artificial intelligence (AI) in parts of our preliminary screening process. This technology helps us personalize job recommendations, automate interview scheduling, evaluate candidates based solely on experience—without considering name, gender, or other personal details—and provide real-time answers through our chatbot. AI is used only during early screening and never makes hiring decisions. Your RGA recruiter will work closely with you every step of the way to ensure the process feels personal, thoughtful, and focused on you.
