About The Company
SAP is a global leader in enterprise applications and business AI. We help organizations run mission-critical operations across finance, procurement, supply chain, human resources, and customer experience, moving from systems that record work to systems that can help execute it. Our goal is to be the #1 Business AI company, powering the Autonomous Enterprise. The Autonomous Enterprise brings together enterprise applications, trusted business data, and AI assistants and agents that can reason, recommend, and act within business processes with governance, accuracy, and compliance built in. • Joule serves as the engagement layer across SAP systems and beyond, connecting data, workflows, and agents. • SAP Autonomous Suite brings Joule Work, AI agents and assistants, data, and applications together to execute end-to-end business processes across finance, supply chain management, spend management, human capital management, and customer experience. • SAP Business AI Platform brings together AI, data, process context, and governance, so organizations can build, integrate, scale, and run AI. • SAP also offers 25+ Industry AI editions embedded in sector-specific processes and compliance requirements across pharma, automotive, consumer goods, energy, and more. • RISE with SAP and SAP GROW help organizations move to the cloud and benefit from AI at their own pace. About the Role

Job Description

What you'll bring

You're studying Computer Science or a related field and want to apply AI and automation tools to real business challenges. You're ready to explore what's possible - and leave with work you can build on. You have a genuine passion for solving business challenges through AI and automation.

  • Current enrolment at a university or university of applied sciences, ideally in Computer Science or Informatics
  • Familiarity with tools such as Claude, Power Automate, or Microsoft Copilot - or a strong drive to learn them
  • A proactive approach to designing, building, and refining prototypes independently
  • A customer-oriented mindset - you consider what colleagues and stakeholders actually need
  • Fluency in German and English is required for this role (written and spoken)
  • Working from Walldorf / St. Leon-Rot office is required

We also look for people who communicate clearly, keep the customer in mind, and enjoy finding smart solutions to problems - whatever stage of your career you're at.

In addition to the role-specific skills above, all student and early talent positions at SAP look for candidates who are open to working with AI tools - including agentic AI - to automate everyday tasks, prototype ideas, and build confidence in AI-assisted ways of working from day one.

What you'll build

You'll work on real deliverables, not shadow tasks. Your contributions connect directly to the team's AI and automation goals.

  • Research, design, and validate automation solutions for the SCI team
  • Apply AI tools to practical business scenarios and document outcomes
  • Develop prototypes, gather user feedback, and refine use cases iteratively
  • Collaborate with colleagues to map processes, gather requirements, and act on feedback
  • Align regularly with the SCI AI Lead on use cases, legal considerations, and tools
  • Prepare and deliver enablement sessions for team members

Where you belong

The Strategic Customer Innovation (SCI) unit works with strategic customers on complex, forward-looking challenges and acts as the voice of the customer for Cloud ERP. We sit within SAP's development organisation. When you join SAP, you'll be a part of SAP Next Gen - a global community of students and early professionals with access to mentors, development programmes, and peers. This is where you start something real.

Additional Information

Please apply initially with your resume in table form. In a later stage we will ask you to upload also school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships).

This is a SAP global, strategic, paid working student position that provides students with opportunities to find purpose in their careers.
