About the Role

A Career with Point72’s proprietary research team

On our proprietary research team—Market Intelligence—you’ll partner with our investment professionals and Compliance team to work with alternative data to uncover insights about companies, industries, and the broader economy through deep fundamental research and applying data science and engineering techniques. You’ll work alongside a talented team with diverse skills, backgrounds, and perspectives. Our sector data analysts, data scientists, data managers, and engineers work together to build compliant research products that are incorporated into the research process of our investment professionals. We look for other bright, motivated, and collaborative people to join our team and grow with us—a majority of the leaders in our group were promoted from within.

What You’ll Do

As a Market Intelligence and AI Product Intern, you will support the development of compliance approved AI-enabled tools, workflows, and research insights that help investment professionals generate differentiated ideas. You will sit at the intersection of fundamental research, data analysis, and AI product development.

During the 10-week program based in our Singapore office, you will gain exposure to:

  • Combining sector expertise, alternative data, and AI methods to support discretionary investing.
  • Working with researchers, product managers, data scientists, engineers, Compliance professionals, and investment teams to help identify AI use cases, evaluate research workflows, analyze data, and synthesize findings into clear, actionable outputs
  • Working on research and workflow projects and synthesizing your findings into clear, actionable deliverables, gaining experience of what it is like to work as an International MI Analyst.
  • Learning about the discretionary investment process through guided exercises, hands-on research assignments, and mentorship from experienced professionals
  • Collaborating with our proprietary research teams, including product, data sourcing, data science, and engineering, to source, evaluate, and extract the most value from new and existing data assets
  • Applying your AI-enabled mindset to research and workflow execution, identifying opportunities to use AI tools, automation, and data-driven methods to improve research efficiency, enhance insight generation, and scale repeatable analytical processes
  • Supporting the evaluation and testing of compliance approved AI-enabled research tools and workflows, helping assess whether outputs are accurate, relevant, explainable, and useful for investment research
  • Translating sector research questions into structured workflows, datasets, prompts, or analytical approaches that can support faster and more consistent insight generation.
